About the opportunity

Lead change. Strengthen families. Shape an integrated service system.

The Orange Door brings together community services, Aboriginal services and government to deliver a new way of supporting:

  • Women, children, young people and families experiencing family violence
  • Perpetrators of family violence
  • Families needing support with the care, development and wellbeing of infants, children and young people

Within Orange Door Wimmera, Uniting is responsible for delivering services that support children, young people and families to thrive.

The Orange Door Team Leader will provide management, coordination and practice leadership within an integrated, multi-agency environment. You’ll support and develop Uniting Practitioners and Senior Practitioners through a matrix supervision model, while working closely with the Orange Door Leadership Team to ensure high-quality, client‑centred responses.

This role plays a critical part in strengthening collaboration across the service system and enhancing outcomes for families and children.

You’ll Bring:

Leadership & Team Management
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments. You’ll coach and mentor staff, manage performance, foster collaboration and build a strong, trauma-informed team culture. Experience supervising practitioners in family violence, child wellbeing or community services is highly valued.

Expertise in Family Violence & Child Wellbeing Frameworks
A strong understanding of risk assessment, safety planning and relevant legislation, including family violence and child protection frameworks. Experience working within integrated service systems and applying structured decision-making tools to deliver consistent, client-centred responses is essential.

Advanced Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
Exceptional communication skills to support people experiencing complex and sensitive circumstances, while also building and maintaining strong partnerships across agencies. You’ll confidently coordinate services, advocate effectively and manage conflict with professionalism and care.

Minimum Qualification Requirement
In line with Victorian Government requirements, applicants must hold a relevant degree qualification in Social Work or a related family violence discipline (AQF Level 7 or above).

Please refer to the Mandatory Minimum Qualifications Policy for full details, including alternative experience and qualification pathways.
