Your new role

As a Restoring Families Coordinator, you will provide a central point of contact for service access, coordination of targeted supports, as well as a mechanism for area level monitoring and reporting.

In this role, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading service coordination processes for:
    • prioritising and triaging referrals
    • monitoring service capacity, demand, case flow, and emerging system barriers
    • convening and facilitating an interdisciplinary panel to support integrated planning and resolve access challenges
  • Contributing to system oversight processes
  • Coordinating prioritisation and authorisation processes across all connection points
  • Provide support to Restoring Families to access targeted, area-based resources
About the Program

Restoring Families is for children and young people from pre-birth and up to the age of 18, and their families, experiencing multiple, complex needs, and who are at elevated risk of pervasive, lifelong harm to their safety, development and wellbeing.

Restoring Families is designed to provide children and families with multiple and complex needs with an intensive service response and a pathway into a sustainable network of support.

Your skills and experience
  • Minimum tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or a related discipline is essential
  • Current Drivers License valid for Victoria
  • Sound understanding of the child and family service system in Victoria
  • Good understanding of the Family Preservation and Reunification Response
  • Strong knowledge of key local Child and Family Alliance partners including funded family service providers, Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and child protection services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Cultural competence and ability to work flexibly.
