Do you have experience as a Mental Health or Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) consumer and experience as a trainer? Looking for ongoing work without the causal roster?
This role will support the delivery of Lived Experience training within the Uniting Training and Capacity Building Team. The position aims to grow and sustain Lived and Living Experience workforce specialised training. Seeking trainers with Lived/Living Experience of Mental Health and/or AOD who would like to join a growing team in an exciting, purpose-led training role.
There are a few potential key focusses for the role. You don’t need experience in all, but must be applicable for at least one:
The delivery of the Hearing Voices Approach Training.
Hearing Voices, psychosis, unusual experiences or other similar experiences who are passionate about learning and delivering non-pathologising, non-judgmental approaches to empowering people in these experiences.
Experience of AOD services or past substance dependence who would like to train others in non-judgmental, non-pathologising approaches to substances.
People with first-hand experience as peer workers sharing your lived experience and walking alongside consumers who also have some experience as a trainer and would like to teach others how to safely share their story.

Your skills and experience
We are looking for a Trainer who is willing to work with people from all walks of life.
Liaise with consumers and lived experience workforce supporting the enrolment processes
Prepare and deliver high quality engaging training / psychoeducation sessions to a diverse group of participants from a wide range of backgrounds, both online and face to face
Provide feedback to learners and stakeholders (as appropriate) on their progress and achievements
Develop resources to support learning
Participate in training review and evaluation processes
Collaborate with team members to ensure successful delivery of the training programs
Actively participate in initiatives to maintain, build upon and promote a positive and collaborative workplace.
