About the program

The Family Services Program supports families who are experiencing high levels of stress and difficulties that impact on parenting, family life and children’s wellbeing. Responding to referrals from The Orange Door, the program provides assertive outreach and home-based supports.

Your new role

As a Group Work Practitioner you will research, develop and facilitate engaging evidence-based group work activities for vulnerable families in need. The Practitioner will be responsible for evaluating group work programs and actively contributing to program development and innovation. The role will also provide specialised support and training to other staff in group work models.

Your skills and experience

You will bring with you:

  • A degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related tertiary qualification relevant to child and family welfare
  • Desired – trained to facilitate evidence-based group programs such as; Circle of Security, Tuning in to Kids, Tuning in to Teens, Bringing Up Great Kids
  • Current driver’s licence valid in Victoria
  • Demonstrated ability as a practitioner in the child, youth and family welfare field
  • Experience delivering parenting groupwork interventions.
  • A commitment to the family-centered approach and the family strengthening and empowerment models of practice
