Your new role

Victoria is shaking things up, transforming the way families are supported, and this is your chance to be part of something truly exciting!

As part of the Roadmap for Reform, the Early Help Service Model is bringing schools, early years services, and community organisations together in a bold new way. The goal? To make support for families easy to access, culturally safe, trauma‑informed, and available before challenges become crises.

Uniting is proudly leading this movement, and we’re on the lookout for a passionate, people‑loving Early Help Practitioner to join our School & Community Engagement team.

In this role, you’ll:

Be a champion for family wellbeing, offering practical and relational support that celebrates diversity.

Help strengthen families early, boosting confidence and connection in meaningful ways.

Provide brief, evidence‑informed support to families with emerging needs, including:

  • Parent coaching
  • Warm referrals
  • Outreach support
  • Group programs and community activities

Work closely with schools, early years services, and community organisations to:

  • Identify emerging needs early
  • Strengthen family functioning
  • Promote child wellbeing

Build capability across universal services, empowering them to respond confidently and effectively.

Work autonomously within established frameworks while contributing to impactful, place‑based community initiatives.

Benefits of working at Uniting

Our work isn’t easy, but it matters. Work with people who care as much as you.

In addition to your salary SCHADS level 4 + super, you can access the following.

  • Increase take-home pay with access to $15,900 salary packing benefits
  • Be part of a team shaping the future of community services
  • Enjoy a 10% discount at Uniting Early Learning
  • Access training and development opportunities to help you grow

  • A relevant qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Counselling, or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and experience relevant to community services practice.
