Your new role

Uniting Early Learning delivers the Early Childhood Language Program, an initiative from the Victorian Department of Education. As part of this, children across Victoria will be given the opportunity to learn in a different language for part of their kindergarten program.

We are looking for a Mandarin Language Teacher who will be responsible for the delivery of the language program and who will work closely with existing staff to support aspects of the education program in the designated language.

Commencement date for this role is 21 April 2026. This is a maximum-term position to 30 June 2027. The contracted hours for this role will be 24 hours per fortnight, with the roster being Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00am to 3:30pm.

The teacher will also receive dedicated time for planning to support program delivery.

Your skills and experience

You will have a post-secondary qualification in teaching, with qualifications and experience in early learning preferred, as well as:

  • Post-secondary qualifications in a language other than English OR Formal Language Qualification OR Statement of Equivalence in speaking in a language other than English.
  • A current VIT registration issued by the Victorian Institute of Teaching on commencement of employment.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, Asthma and EpiPen training.
  • A current Victorian driver licence (flexibility to work and travel between nearby kindergarten services will be required).
