Your new role

Our kindergarten in Mount Waverley offers a range of indoor and outdoor play areas as well as equipment to support the physical and social development of children. We currently have a vacancy for a Certificate III qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team. This role (starting 21 April 2026) is for 8 hours per fortnight, with the roster being Mondays and Wednesdays from 12 noon to 2pm.

Support children to thrive in an inclusive, values-led early learning environment. At Uniting, our Early Childhood Educators play a vital role in creating warm, engaging, and responsive spaces where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn. Whether you’re just starting your career or looking for a meaningful change, this is your opportunity to grow within a team that’s deeply committed to child-centred practice and social impact.

You’ll contribute to the planning and delivery of high-quality education and care programs in line with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards. Working alongside our experienced team, you’ll build strong relationships with children, families, and the broader community, supporting each child’s individual learning and development journey.

About your team

You’ll be joining Uniting’s Early Learning division – a dynamic and purpose-led team working across Victoria and Tasmania to shape better futures for children and families. We champion access, inclusion, and quality in everything we do, and we’re driven by a deep belief in the power of early learning to transform lives and strengthen communities.

Benefits of working at Uniting

Our work isn’t easy, but it matters. Work with people who care as much as you.

In addition to your base hourly rate of $26.11 + super (pay scale is $26.11 to $27.87 per hour), you can access the following:

  • Salary packaging to increase your take-home pay.
  • 60% discount for eligible employees on the childcare subsidy gap fee when using a Uniting Early Learning Service.
  • Up to 16 weeks paid parental leave for primary caregivers (4 for secondary).
Your skills and experience

You’re an empathetic, enthusiastic educator who believes in every child’s right to belong, learn, and thrive. You hold (or are working towards) a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and bring a commitment to reflective practice and continuous improvement. Most importantly, you bring heart to everything you do.
