Your new role

Join an amazing team by stepping into this pivotal leadership role, shaping and leading workplace relations across Uniting Vic Tas.

Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you’ll design and drive IR strategy, lead enterprise bargaining, and provide clear, risk-aware advice on complex employee and industrial relations matters. A unique role with plenty of variety and impact.

This role suits someone ready to step into leading the workplace relations function, or an experienced practitioner looking to broaden scope across strategy, governance and complex casework in a large, values-led organisation.

Your impact will include

  • Leading enterprise agreement bargaining, negotiations and implementation
  • Representing Uniting in matters before the Fair Work Commission and other forums
  • Providing ER/IR advice to senior leaders on complex and high-risk matters
  • Overseeing complex case management including disputes, investigations and litigation
  • Developing and embedding workplace relations frameworks, policies and governance
  • Ensuring Uniting meets it’s legislative, regulatory, and industrial obligations
  • Building capability in leaders through coaching and guidance as a trusted advisor
  • Leading a small specialist team and partnering across the organisation

Your skills and experience

You’ll bring a blend of capability, judgement and stakeholder confidence, including:

  • Substantial proven experience in workplace/industrial relations, including leading enterprise bargaining
  • Deep understanding of Australian employment law, awards and enterprise agreements
  • Strong ER case management capability across complex and high-risk matters
  • Ability to provide clear, succinct, risk-aware and commercially sound advice
  • A proven track record in influencing and partnering with senior leaders
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring others (or readiness to step into this)
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resources, Law, IR or related discipline.
