Your new role

As the Senior Family Safety Contact Specialist, you will support family safety contact work for the affected family members of men who attend the FVIP Men’s Behaviour Change program. You will provide safety planning, advocacy, referral and ongoing support once the men are allocated into a group. 

In this role, you will also work alongside Family Safety Contact Workers, providing support and assisting with a range of tasks and responsibilities to support service delivery.

Your skills and experience
  • Minimum Qualification Requirement
    • In line with Victorian Government requirements, applicants must hold a relevant degree qualification in Social Work or a related family violence discipline (AQF Level 7 or above).
    • Please refer to the Mandatory Minimum Qualifications Policy for full details, including alternative experience and qualification pathways.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing individual counselling and support for women impacted by family violence.
  • Demonstrated experience in comprehensive assessment.
  • Experience in working with complex situations and the capacity to engage vulnerable clients.
  • A demonstrated understanding of work with people from a CALD background.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully facilitating groups and workshops.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
