The Orange Door is transforming the way people access support in times of need, bringing together specialist services, expert practitioners, and a shared commitment to safety, wellbeing and empowerment.
We’re building a strong, connected team to support:
By uniting Community Service Organisations (including Uniting), Aboriginal services, Family Safety Victoria (FSV), and the Department of Families, Fairness & Housing (DFFH), The Orange Door creates a single, accessible entry point for support — and we want passionate practitioners to join us.

Our work isn’t easy, but it matters. Work with people who care as much as you.
In addition to your base hourly rate (SCHADS Level 5) and super, you’ll also receive 17.5% leave loading and the ability to increase your take-home pay by accessing up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits, which can be used for living expenses such as groceries, bills, clothing, streaming services, and much more.

This policy outlines the formal skills and knowledge required within the family violence sector to ensure we are providing support and responses that are consistently high quality and culturally appropriate to people who experience family violence. It recognises that specialist family violence practitioners are highly skilled and formalises that recognition.
A self-assessment form is part of our application process for this role. Candidates wishing to join our specialist family violence workforce via an equivalent or related pathway must work towards an equivalent qualification within specified timeframes provided in the Mandatory Minimum Qualifications Policy.
