Your new role

As a Mobile Support Team (MST) Support Worker Therapeutic Residential Services you will provide after-hours support to residential units caring for young people by ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development through emotional and physical care, transport assistance, incident response, and routine planning.

You will be mentoring and supervising staff to maintain safe overnight practices, liaising with external stakeholders such as Child Protection, and supporting other youth programs as needed. You will fulfil legal, safety, and reporting obligations, participating in team discussions and supervision, and maintaining personal accountability through compliance with policies, promoting a safe workplace, and declaring any conflicts of interest or issues affecting suitability to work with children.

Your skills and experience

We are seeking compassionate carers that have the ability to make positive connections with young people and enjoy working within a cohesive team dynamic.

You will bring:

  • A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care).
  • A Certificate IV in Youth Work, Mental Health, Community Services, Alcohol & Other Drugs, Disability, Social Work or related disciplines is acceptable with the addition of the appropriate skill set added.
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • 5 years’ experience in children, youth and families residential services
  • 2 years demonstrated experience in the provision of care and support to children in ‘out of home care’
  • Desirable: Current first aid level 2 (including CPR)
