Your new role

Step into a leadership role with community impact as the Manager, Homelessness Operations across Western Metro & Central Highlands. This role has the flexibility to be based in Werribee or Ballarat.

You’ll oversee a portfolio of homelessness programs including, prevention, community engagement, intake, assessment and support and play a key sector leadership role supporting local Homelessness alliances to prioritise and drive sector collaboration.

Working closely with our senior manager and practice partners, you’ll champion high-quality, trauma-informed service delivery, strengthen culture, and drive operational excellence that is aligned with Uniting’s 2030 Strategy: Strengthening the Foundations for Living.

You’ll also lead innovation, continuous improvement and help embed our therapeutic model of care, ensuring people are empowered, supported and connected in the ways that matter most.

Your skills and experience

You’re an experienced people leader or practice-informed professional, ready to step into a senior operational role.

You will also bring with you:

  • Significant experience leading large community-service portfolios, ideally homelessness or housing support.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams focusing on safety, accountability and growth.
  • Experience participating in community forums, influencing and negotiating with senior stakeholders and the ability to progress complex situations and achieve impact for the community.
  • An understanding and application of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements for jurisdictions that services operate in, including Child Safety standards.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, community services or a related field and a current driver’s license.
