Your new role

Imagine using your early childhood experience and qualifications in a different way. In our Engagement role, you will be coaching others, sharing your knowledge and helping great practice grow across kindergarten services.

As a KIS Engagement Officer, you’ll support, coach and develop our Additional Assistants as they work alongside kindergarten teams to create inclusive environments where every child can participate, belong and thrive.

You’ll build trusted relationships with your team, helping them grow in confidence, strengthen their practice and navigate the different environments they work in.

Supporting Additional Assistants across Baw Baw, South Gippsland and Bass Coast, you’ll combine regular on-site visits with phone, email and online support. You’ll also bring people together through face-to-face sessions and professional development that builds capability, connection and shared learning.

Working pattern:

This is a permanent part-time opportunity, working 38 hours per fortnight (0.5 FTE) and based from our Morwell office, with hybrid work from home flexibility.

You’ll work three days in week one and two days in week two. Thursday is a required workday each week, with flexibility to agree the remaining days to create a pattern that works for you and the program.

The role is expected to commence in the week of 5 January 2027.

Your skills and experience

You'll be right at home at Uniting if you're passionate about providing high-quality early learning experiences and share our belief that children's safety, wellbeing and development should always come first.

This is a great opportunity for an experience early childhood professional who loves developing others and wants to use their expertise beyond a single kindergarten setting.

You’ll bring with you:

  • A minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care or relevant ACECQA-recognised qualification.
  • Strong early childhood experience and the ability to role model quality practice.
  • A genuine passion for coaching, mentoring and helping others develop.
  • Strong relationship building, communication and organisational skills.
  • A current Victorian driver licence and the capacity to drive to kindergarten services.
  • Current National Child Safety Training and any applicable state-based Child Safety Training (or ability to obtain prior to commencement).
