Your new role

As an Emergency Relief Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering responsive, person-centred support across the Barwon Region. This position is responsible for the effective coordination and delivery of both site-based and mobile Emergency Relief services, ensuring individuals and families experiencing hardship can access timely, practical assistance.

A core part of the role involves recruiting, guiding, and supporting a dedicated team of volunteers fostering a positive, inclusive environment where people feel valued, empowered, and motivated to make a difference.

Working collaboratively with internal teams and community partners, you will help strengthen local connections, improve service accessibility, and contribute to meaningful outcomes for those in need.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a tertiary qualification in Community Services, Disability or a related discipline and experience working with vulnerable people

You will also have:

  • Current Valid Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or able to complete within the first 6months of employment)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide safe environments for children and young people and protect them from abuse and neglect.
  • Proven ability to manage high-demand service environments while maintaining professionalism and quality standards.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work as a cooperative and collaborative team
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills
