Your new role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Cook to join our team at Scots Early Learning. In this role, you’ll plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children each day. You’ll consider allergies, special dietary needs, and cultural requirements to make sure every child enjoys nutritious food that supports their growth and wellbeing.

As part of the Uniting Early Learning team, you’ll work closely with educators to support learning through food experiences and ensure the kitchen operates to the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and care.

  • Plan menus that meet nutrition guidelines and children’s needs
  • Prepare and serve morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea
  • Cater for allergies, intolerances, and cultural food requirements
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment
  • Manage stock, food orders, and records in line with food safety standards

About you

You’re organised, reliable, and passionate about providing nutritious food that helps children thrive. You work well as part of a team and understand the importance of food safety, hygiene, and inclusive meal planning.

You’ll need:

  • A Food Handling Certificate (required)
  • A current Working with Children Check (TAS) and National Police Check
  • Experience cooking for groups, ideally in an early learning or care setting
  • (Desirable) Level 2 Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
