Your New role

The Consumer Partnerships Coordinator supports people with lived experience of Uniting services (“Consumer Partners”) to safely and confidently contribute their insights to improve services. The role builds strong relationships and provides facilitation, training and coaching to enable meaningful participation in areas such as service planning, design, delivery, evaluation and quality improvement.

Working within established frameworks and alongside the Senior Lead, the Coordinator helps embed high-quality partnership practices and supports shared decision-making between Consumer Partners and staff, ensuring lived experience meaningfully informs governance, policy and service development.

Your skills and experience

You will hold a tertiary qualification in a health or welfare related discipline. You will also bring with you:

  • Desirable: Qualification (completed or in progress) in Community Development, Community Services, Social Work, AOD, Mental Health, Peer Work or related field.
  • Highly regarded: (Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work , Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Certificate IV (or higher) in Community Services).
  • Equivalent skills through lived/living experience, peer work or community leadership will be considered.
  • Lived or living experience of AOD, mental health and/or community services and willingness to draw on this experience safely.
  • Understanding of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and person-centred practice.
  • Experience contributing to service improvement (e.g. co-design, feedback, advocacy or advisory groups).
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams.
