Your new role
Uniting Vic.Tas is looking for Communications and Media Manager that can understand the issues, make the connections, and craft the content to help us affect social change and build brand awareness.
Through your own initiative, you’ll monitor the media landscape, read reports, and connect with internal service delivery teams, all so you know what’s going on. You’ll put this knowledge to use, overseeing planning and being hands-on to deliver impactful campaigns, compelling content and media relations activities.
You will utilise your exceptional and versatile writing skills to develop content appropriate for multiple channels and a variety of audiences – anything from CEO speeches and forewords for core corporate communications, to long-form storytelling, blogs or video scripts to engage the broader community.

Your skills and experience
Tertiary qualified, with solid experience (7+ years) in a communication role, preferably in government, community services or education.
Exceptional and versatile writing skills
Strategic thinker with proven record of developing and delivering integrated communications campaigns ideally across digital, social and traditional media platforms.
Excellent interpersonal skills to engage and support consumers who may be or have experienced poverty, trauma or disadvantage, as well as engage with and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Excellent coaching and briefing skills to lead a team of content creators and work collaboratively with other internal team members in digital, design, communication and marketing functions.
