Utilize your lived experience to support other young people on their mental health recovery journey. Being a youth peer support worker means drawing on your lived experience in a safe and supportive way. This may include sharing parts of your lived experience of help-seeking and recovery when supporting young people and when engaging with communities. Sharing in this way should be based on what is helpful (or unhelpful) for this young person, what is appropriate to share within your role and responsibilities, and your boundaries about what you feel comfortable and safe sharing.
