You will provide tailored, evidence-informed interventions aligned with each family’s needs and Uniting’s Therapeutic Model of Care (TMoC), promoting safety, stability, wellbeing and healthy development.
The purpose of the Strengthening Families-Early Years (SFEY) program is to support families with children in the 0-5 age group through comprehensive assessment, goal identification and multifaceted engagement style.
SFEY focuses on parenting skills and the importance of bonding and attachment between a parent and child. This program is designed to build strong, healthy family relationships and focuses on parenting skills, social isolation, family violence, mental health through the delivery of evidence-based group work.
The program draws on key elements of therapeutic group work, and attachment-based relationship building to deliver parent education supports within a welcoming, safe environment. SFEY is delivered using both group work and assertive outreach models which provides a natural space for psychoeducation and peer bonding while also meeting family’s daily needs in their home.
