Your new role

As Generalist Counsellor you will provide counselling and facilitate therapeutic group work for men, women and children within the Inner Gippsland region. You will undertake appropriate assessments of consumers throughout the duration of their engagement to ensure that their support needs are met. You will also assist with referrals to relevant support services such as housing, financial counselling, integrated family services and family violence support services.

Your skills and experience

You will bring with you:

  • A tertiary qualification in social work, counselling or a related discipline
  • Experience in delivering counselling services and therapeutic support to children and/or families
  • Experience in developing and facilitating group work programs
  • Knowledge of a range of theoretical frameworks relevant to working with children, young people and families
  • Well-developed risk assessment and safety planning skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Current driver’s licence valid in Victoria
