Your new role

As an Assertive Outreach Worker, you will provide support in the Ballarat area to people experiencing homelessness who are sleeping rough, with the aim of providing/securing long-term safe housing.

In this role, you will apply assertive and persistent outreach approaches to deliver purposeful, client-focused support to individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

This position may require some work outside of normal business hours

Your skills and experience
  • Minimum Diploma of Welfare or other relevant tertiary qualifications, experience and/or knowledge of the welfare sector.
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Direct experience working with people who are:
    • Sleeping rough or in unstable housing
    • At risk of homelessness
  • Understanding of pathways into homelessness and barriers to housing
  • Proven ability to engage hard-to-reach or disengaged clients
  • Experience delivering assertive and persistent, person-centred support in non-office settings
  • Ability to advocate on behalf of clients with services and systems
