Your New Role

Join our Communities for Children funded program supporting Aboriginal children's wellbeing in the Brighton area. As an Aboriginal School Holiday Program Facilitator, you'll develop, plan, and deliver engaging school holiday activities for Aboriginal children in kutalayna (Bridgewater). This meaningful role focuses on building stronger community relationships while promoting improved health and wellbeing outcomes for local Aboriginal children through culturally appropriate programming and activities.

Your skills and experience

You will hold a tertiary qualification in a health or welfare related discipline. You will also bring with you:

  • TAFE or accredited tertiary qualification in Children's Services, School Based Education Support, or related children's and community services disciplines
  • Current driver's licence highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience working with children in group, activity-based settings
  • Proven experience developing, planning, and implementing programs for children aged 5-16 years
  • Commitment to innovative program development that serves the experiential and cultural needs of Aboriginal children
  • Strong child-centred approach to service delivery
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice
  • Courage to take initiative and align programs with community stakeholder goals
