About the opportunity
We are seeking an Early Childhood Language Teacher to join our early years service based in Port Melbourne.
You will be an experienced Kindergarten Teacher proficient in speaking French. This position will be based at 9.5 hours per fortnight.
This is a maximum term position until June 2022.
The Early Childhood Language Teacher will be responsible for the delivery of the language programs and work closely with existing staff to support aspects of the education program in the designated language. The language teacher will receive dedicated time for planning to support program delivery.

Staff delivering the language program will be required to undertake a language proficiency assessment, arranged by the Department of Education and Training, to ensure language skill is adequate to deliver a quality program. The assessment is based on a proficiency level equivalent to third year tertiary study in the language. This is a native or near native level of language proficiency.
Uniting requires a degree qualified Early Childhood Teacher with French language skills. Diploma qualified educators or primary school qualified teachers who understand early childhood pedagogy and practice may also be considered, as will alternative languages to French.
